Vs. Corphish is the seventeenth episode of the first season of Pokémon Tales: Max. It aired 6/20/20.

Story[]
A video appears on the screen, featuring a large Pokéball. The Pokéball opens, Tierno busting a move.
Tierno: Yo yo yo! I’m Tierno and here’s my debut dance video! I introduce my backup dancers Chespin and Scatterbug!
Tierno, Chespin and Scatterbug are in a field, dancing in sync and breakdancing. They spin on their shoulders and then their heads. Chespin gets its spike impaled into the ground, flailing while stuck.
Chespin: Chespin!
Tierno: We may still be working on our moves, but there’s no doubt that we’ll be the greatest dancing team in Kalos! Word up yo!
Max, Shauna and Tierno are at the beach at Ambrette Town, wielding fishing rods and their lines out into the ocean. Shauna shakes with anticipation.
Max: Shauna, you need to calm down. The key to fishing is patience and remaining quiet. You shaking like that is shaking the line.
Shauna: Oh, okay! It’s just I’ve always wanted to go fishing and I really really wanna catch one!
Tierno’s line tugs, as he begins reeling it in.
Tierno: Yo! It feels like a big one!
The line suddenly snaps, Tierno falling back.
Shauna: Tierno! You alright?
Tierno: (Groans) Yeah. Good thing sand is soft, yo.
Max: Hm. (Examines thread) It doesn’t seem like this thread is the strongest. Looks like we got some defected rods.
Shauna: No! I wanna catch a Pokémon!
Tierno: Let’s head back and see if we can get some better string, yo. The Pokémon Center probably has some.
Shauna: (Groans) Okay. I can check to see the reception my PokéVision’s gotten anyway!
End Scene
Shauna rushes into the Pokémon Center, heading over to the computer terminal. Max and Tierno lag behind.
Shauna: I wonder how many viewers I’ve had! I know it’s only been a week but these views determine my popularity! Aaahh! (Jumps for joy) 2000!
Tierno: Yo that’s groovy for such a short time!
Max: I wonder how yours was received, Tierno.
Tierno: Good idea, yo.
Voice: OH YOUNG MASTER MAAAAAX!
Max turns as he’s grabbed and smothered, him flailing to get free. Max pushes away, dropping a few feet. He looks up to see Miror B. towering over him.
Max: (Taken aback) Miror B?!
Miror B: Is in the house, y’all! It is, I say it is so good to see you again! I haven’t seen you since Citadark Isle!
Max: I thought you fell into a volcano! You’ve been alright all this time?!
Miror B: I am, I say so sorry that I haven’t called! But I had traveled to Unova following that most dramatic escape! Young master Ian told me to look you up and I was, I say I was so surprised once I made it to the region! I learned of these, I say these marvelous PokéVisions and saw you in that young girl Shauna’s video! It was meant to be, I say it was meant to be that we were reunited!
Max: (Pouts) I still haven’t forgiven you for leaving like that. (Miror B. sulks) But you’re alright in the end. So I can’t really stay mad at you.
Miror B. picks Max up and smothers him again, dancing as he does.
Miror B: Oh I am I say I am so happy!
Shauna and Tierno officially join over with them.
Shauna: Max! Introduce us to your friend here!
Miror B puts Max down, him coughing.
Max: Friend might be pushing it. Shauna, Tierno. This is Miror B. An ally I made in my journeys in Orre.
Miror B: It is, I say it is such a pleasure to meet you Shauna! As well as you Tierno!
Tierno: You know me too, yo?
Miror B: Of course! Your dancing, I say your dancing soul lit a fire under me! I knew, I say I was just dying to meet you and have a dance off!
Tierno: Dance off? (Strikes a pose) I’m down for it, yo!
Miror B: In that case back to the beach!
Miror B. and Tierno lead the way back to the beach as Max and Shauna follow behind.
Shauna: I can’t wait to travel the world more! To meet as many interesting people as you have! Miror B. is hilarious!
Max: Yeah. A real man-child. But he is a strong battler. He was one of the top trainers in Orre.
Miror B: Now we need, I say we need a dancing companion! Mon Amour!
Miror B. throws his Pokéball, choosing a red flower Flabébé.
Mon Amour: Flabébé!
Shauna: Aw! So cute! (Scans it)
Pokédex: (In female voice) Flabébé, the Single Bloom Pokémon. When it finds a flower it likes, it dwells on that flower its whole life long. It floats in the wind's embrace with an untroubled heart.
Tierno: Word up, yo! I choose Chespin!
Tierno throws his Pokéball, choosing Chespin.
Chespin: Chespin Ches!
Miror B: Let the music play!
Miror B. presses a button on his belt, turning on a portable speaker. His music echoes out to the ocean, a red horn popping out in intrigue.
Miror B: Mon Amour, Fairy Wind!
Mon Amour circles Miror B. to the music, a pink sparkling vortex forming. Miror B. dances to the music with the Fairy Wind shaking back and forth with him.
Tierno: We’re not gonna lag behind! Let’s step it up!
Tierno and Chespin begin their brake dance, spinning on their sides and onto their heads. Chespin’s horn digs easily through the sand as they both hop back up.
Miror B: Oh, OW! What a style! Mon Amour let’s match them!
Mon Amour descends to Miror B’s feet as he lies on his side. Mon Amour increases the intensity of Fairy Wind to spin Miror B., him eventually spinning on his afro.
Shauna: So amazing! He’s using his Pokémon to amplify his own dance moves!
Max: While Tierno is instead dancing alongside his Pokémon.
Tierno: Okay Chespin. Looks like we’ll have to take it up a notch. Use Rollout yo!
Chespin leaps and rolls like a ball, heading toward Tierno. Tierno balances on his finger him like a basketball, then rolls him down his arm and back again. Tierno kicks to a handstand with Chespin up on the tip of his toe as the two drop back down.
Miror B: Oh, OW! That makes me wanna dance dance dance!
Corphish: COR!
A Corphish leaps out of the water, landing on the beach and shakes its pincers around to the music.
Corphish: Cor cor Corphish. Cor cor Corphish!
Tierno: Yo yo! It’s a dancer! (Scans it)
Pokédex: (In male voice) Corphish, the Ruffian Pokémon. No matter how dirty the water in the river, it will adapt and thrive. It has a strong will to survive.
Miror B: Look at it shaking and breaking! Total dance partner material!
Tierno: Straight up! Yo Chespin! Dance off, go!
Chespin charges forward, staring Corphish down. The two stall for a moment before dancing, Chespin twirling and spinning on its backs and hands. Corphish continues to shake side to side but stumbles and falls. Corphish gets up and stomps the ground angrily.
Corphish: Corphish Corphish Corphish!
Corphish begins dancing with energy swords circling it. It glows with red energy as it opens its pincers and forms water energy blades. Corphish charges and slashes with Razor Shell. Chespin is hit and goes tumbling back.
Tierno: Sore loser, huh? Chespin, spin it out with Vine Whip!
Chespin spins on its head as it swings Vine Whip.
Max: Whoa! When did he make a combo like that?!
Corphish closes its pincer, grabbing the Vine Whip. Chespin screams from the pain as Corphish reels Chespin in, striking again with Razor Shell. Chespin tumbles back in the sand.
Tierno: No way!
Miror B: Tierno my man! You two are the better dancers! Use it!
Tierno: Chespin, kick it up a notch with the sand! Rollout!
Chespin begins rolling, sand kicking up in Corphish’s face. Corphish freaks and swats at the sand as Rollout rams into Corphish, knocking it down. Corphish prepares Razor Shell as Chespin rolls at it, Chespin doing a side roll to evade and strike from the side. Corphish hits the ground as Chespin leaps and rolls into its back, Corphish howling. Corphish drops down as Chespin spins into an epic pose.
Tierno: Word up! Go Pokéball!
Tierno throws his Pokéball, hitting and sucking Corphish in. The Pokéball shakes violently, eventually locking.
Tierno: Straight up! I caught a Corphish!
Miror B: Oh, OW! That was, I say what a spectacular dance off! You young Tierno have got some moves!
Tierno: You think so?
Miror B: Of course! Let’s exchange numbers. I wanna, I say you are someone to keep in touch with! And that way I can, I say I can see young master Max at any time!
Max: (Deadpan) Oh. Joy.

Trivia[]
- Miror B. returns because I love him. Also, it ties in with Tierno being a dancer.
- Flabébé's nickname, Mon Amour, is french for "My Love."
- Tierno catching a Corphish here was the inspiration for Ben catching Water Hazard here in Fighting the Storm.
- I debated back and forth on Tierno catching a Corphish due to Ben doing the same thing. It was kept in to add sustenance to the episode and since Corphish is a primary Pokémon for Tierno in the games and manga.
- Shauna and Tierno love Miror B., while Max still finds him too eccentric.
