Leaf is a character in the series To Be a Master.
Appearance[]
As of To Be a Master, she is 11 years old.
Leaf is around average height for her age, being 4'7, a few inches taller than Emerald Corazón. She has messy dark brown hair going up to her back, and matching brown eyes.
In the Indigo League arc, she wears a sleeveless black dress with a light blue tank top underneath, under a pair of light blue shorts. She wears black shoes, white wristbands, and a yellow bag to store her items. As of Perfect Love, she wears a white bucket hat with a pink Pokéball logo.
Character[]
Leaf is a very dedicated individual, taking her tasks seriously. Despite this, she can be very insecure about her failures and doubts her abilities at times, being strict and proper. However, she can get back up with encouragement, especially from her seniors. She is respectful to adults and fellow researchers.
She is very knowledgeable, knowing a lot of information on Pokémon, although she rarely battles. Instead, she prefers to study evolution, being intrigued by alternative methods of evolution. This is due to her background as an assistant to Professor Oak, being intrigued in learning about the unknown and seeing evolution as an interesting but underdeveloped branch of study.

Trivia[]
- Leaf wasn't originally planned to appear in the series. Instead, Crystal would've appeared and have been based upon her Pokémon Adventures counterpart.
- Leaf's overall personality is carried over from Crystal's, however, along with her habit of kicking Pokéball to capture Pokémon.
- Due to similarities with Leaf Green (TBTB) and the overall plot of the series, her study changed from filling the Pokédex to researching evolutionary methods.
- This was inspired by the Pokémon Adventures interpretation of Green, who was given the title "The Evolver."
- Leaf initially would've owned a Paras due to it being capable of learning spore moves and False Swipe, to keep the theme of the filling Pokédex, however when her goals changed the author wanted to use a Pokémon that evolved by non-traditional means.
- Despite being named after FireRed and LeafGreen's default female player character name, her initial appearance is based upon the Let's Go character Green.
- This is since Leaf is a retooled version of the initial female player character design that'd evolve into Green.
- Leaf's dynamics with Emerald are inspired by Misty and Brock from the anime, helping guide Emerald and acting as a voice of reason, although gets into conflicts occasionally. This is to contrast with Emerald's more passionate personality.
