Trivia[]
- Charmander was made female as a nod to Charla from the anime.
- Charmander's personality is loosely inspired by Ash's in the anime, most notably the episode Charmander, the Stray Pokémon.
- From Perfect Love to Seeds of Greatness, Charmander had not won any matches.
- She drew with Lt. Surge's Magnemite in Surge of Power and Janine's Golbat in Finding the Ninja Way.
- This is done to emphasize Charmander's characterization and set up its character arc.
- This also reflects on Emerald as a trainer.
- Charmander illegally knows the move Metal Claw. This was a mistake made by the author, due to the author having only used the Charmander line in Red and FireRed (where Charmander can learn Metal Claw).
