Bede Dervish is a character in University of PocketMon, being a student in class R1. He is the adopted son of Earl Dervish, the university's Principal.
Appearance[]
Same as the game Pokémon Sword and Shield. He is 15 years old.
Character[]
Bede is a harsh and entitled individual, believing that he deserves the position of the strongest trainer. This comes from the fact that he's the principal's son and knows all the inner workings of the school and its classes. However, he is the first to distance himself from his father and state he's adopted, especially when Earl does something embarrassing (which is often according to Bede). This doesn't hide how much Bede cares about his adoptive father, as he actively tries to defend him when he is forced to resign.
Bede is harsh to his classmates, belittling them and borderline bullies them. He chooses not to have a strong relationship to any of them. He views his role as principal's son not to be amongst the other students but to be above them. He does that by believing he is more worthy than them, and later on fighting the Will of Yamask on his own since he doesn't know who to trust.
Bede is shown to be highly intelligent, passing his exams easily and is able to deduce the identity of a Will member once he took the time to.

- Bede being the adoptive son of Earl was decided when Earl was made the Fairy type representative of the adults, and Bede's status as a Fairy type gym leader in the games.
- It was revealed that he was adopted when he was a preteen/teenager, meaning he hasn't been with him long.
- Bede fills the void of the harsh, brazen yet highly skilled classmate with something to prove.
- In the original draft of the series, this character archetype was filled by Katsuki Bakugo from My Hero Academia.
